How to Stop Verizon Junk Mail
Verizon accepts postal marketing opt-outs by phone and through its privacy inquiry form. Use the route for your service, then keep the date and address you submitted.
Verizon's official privacy policy says customers can stop marketing-related postal mail by phone. Wireless customers can call 1-800-922-0204. Fios customers can call 1-800-VERIZON.
Ask Verizon to stop promotional postal mail
- Keep one recent offer. Have the recipient name, street address, unit number, and ZIP code exactly as printed.
- Call the correct service number. Use 1-800-922-0204 for Verizon Wireless or 1-800-VERIZON for Fios.
- Name the channel clearly. Ask to opt out of marketing-related postal mail. A request about calls, texts, or email is a different preference.
- Confirm the address. Read the full mailing address from the piece, including any apartment or unit number.
- Record the request date. Keep a note with the mailpiece so you can identify promotions prepared before the opt-out.
Use Verizon's privacy form instead
Verizon also provides a privacy inquiry form. Choose the option to stop marketing solicitations, select postal mail, and enter the mailing address receiving the promotion.
Use the phone route if the form does not recognize the account or address. Do not submit a general data-sale opt-out and assume it changes postal marketing; Verizon lists those as separate choices.
Why some Verizon mail may continue
Verizon says a postal opt-out may not stop mail sent through a bulk service to every home in a ZIP code. That kind of piece may be addressed to Current Resident or may not name you at all. Account notices, bills, service messages, and legally required mail are also different from promotional offers. Keep those even after changing marketing preferences.
If another named offer arrives
Compare the new label with the name and address used in the original request. A spelling variation, former address, or missing unit number can point to a separate record. Contact Verizon again with the exact label if named promotional mail continues.
