How to Stop Paralyzed Veterans of America Mail
Paralyzed Veterans of America publishes an email route for stopping postal mail. Provide the exact name and address printed on the piece. If you also want to stop information sharing, ask for that separately.
Send a postal request to PVA
The PVA privacy and donor opt-out policy directs postal removal requests to info@pva.org, with your exact name and address. It also lists the Donor Services hotline, 1-800-555-9140, for opting out of communications.
Write the delivery address as it appears on the mailing, including the unit and ZIP code. If two pieces use different names, identify both records instead of assuming one correct spelling will find the other. You can describe an error without asking PVA to replace the unwanted record with a new prospect record.
Please remove [exact printed name and full postal address] from PVA postal promotional and fundraising mailings. The label also shows [identifier, if present].
Please exclude this record from sharing with outside organizations. Confirm the postal and sharing preferences separately. This is not a request to change a donation or a veterans-service record.
Paper mail and information sharing are separate
PVA's policy describes three choices: outside-party sharing, electronic communications and all communications. Its postal clause specifically covers future mailings to your address. An unsubscribe at the bottom of an email is the electronic choice, not evidence that your paper-mail record changed.
If you still want selected updates, spell that out rather than asking for all communications to stop. When you receive a reply, check whether it acknowledges the mailing address or only the email address used to send your request. Ask for clarification if the answer leaves the paper preference unclear.
Do not confuse donation processing with removal
The current PVA FAQ explains that its national office and Topeka mail facility serve different purposes. You do not need to send a donation to the processing center to use the policy's email route.
The FAQ also says PVA's chapters are separate nonprofits and that PVA, DAV and Wounded Warrior are individual organizations. For a chapter-branded appeal, ask the listed sender whether national Donor Services handles that record. For another veterans charity, use its own contact rather than forwarding every envelope to PVA.
Use current guidance for follow-up
The cited policy does not set a specific number of weeks for the last paper mailing to arrive. Ask Donor Services for the current processing window. Do not borrow a deadline from an old article or from the FAQ's gift-delivery estimate.
Keep the reply and a new label if mail continues. Describe the difference between the two records, and ask whether both were suppressed. Our charity-mail guide covers that follow-up without requiring sensitive service or payment information.
Is another charity sending the next appeal?
PVA, DAV and Wounded Warrior Project are different organizations. A clear photo of another sender helps us prepare the right request. Your first request is free.
