How to Stop American Heart Association Mail

Ask the American Heart Association to stop postal fundraising mail through its Contact Preference Center. State donor-list exchange separately if you want that stopped too. Its contact page offers phone and postal alternatives.

Choose contact preferences, not email only

The AHA privacy statement routes communication changes and donor-list exchange requests to its Contact Preference Center.

That page distinguishes the Update Contact Preferences form from Unsubscribe From All Email Communications. For paper appeals, use the contact-preference route and specify the postal recipient. An email-only unsubscribe is not confirmation that the paper mailing record changed.

The preference page says to refresh if a form does not appear. If it remains unavailable, use the organization's published contact alternatives below. A missing form is not a saved request, and you should not have to make a donation to submit a mailing preference.

There is a phone and postal fallback

The official contact page publishes 1-800-242-8721 for AHA. It also allows information-use requests by mail with your contact details. Its National Center address is 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.

For an AHA fundraising letter, use the AHA contact rather than the separate professional-membership number. If your envelope names the American Stroke Association, the same official page lists that organization's own phone contact. Match the printed sender before choosing the route.

Please stop postal fundraising appeals for [exact recipient name and full mailing address]. Please also exclude this record from donor-list exchange activity.

Please confirm both preferences. I want to keep [necessary receipts or requested information]. This is not an instruction to cancel a recurring donation.

Address sharing is not the same as paper mail

The privacy statement describes donor-list exchanges and lets donors ask not to participate. A request covering AHA's own appeals and that exchange preference should say both, without assuming that stopping one stops the other.

Keep any requested account or service changes separate. Account deletion, online advertising settings and donation cancellation have different purposes from removing an address from fundraising mail. Junk Mail Magic does not cancel gifts or remove medical information from provider accounts.

Ask what was recorded

The cited preference page does not publish a fixed postal-delivery cutoff. Save your request and ask the team for its expected processing period. For continued mail, supply a new label and the earlier response so support can check the same record rather than start from an incomplete description.

Leave diagnoses, medical bills and payment-card details out of the request. For a different organization's appeal, use its own official contact. The charity-mail guide helps separate the senders before you ask for removal.

Have another health-charity appeal?

Use AHA's direct preference routes for its mail. For an unfamiliar fundraising letter, photograph the sender and label without medical or payment records. Your first request is free.
