Reduce pest-control sales postcards
Send your request to the company named beside the contact details on the postcard, and ask it to stop printed sales messages. Claims on the card about pests near your home are sales copy. You do not need to answer them, and you do not need to describe any treatment, infestation or health concern to make the request.
Pin down the sender first
- Find the company name, phone number and website on the card. Shared artwork can carry more than one brand, so note which name appears next to the contact details.
- Type the company's website address yourself rather than scanning a code or following a printed shortcut. Then look for a contact form or a mailing preference option.
- Ask only that printed sales postcards stop. Give your name and address exactly as they appear on the card.
- If you already have a pest-control provider, mention it only if the request goes to that same company. Ask that notices about your service continue.
Keep the request narrow
One sentence about the mail is enough. Leave out pests, past treatments and anyone's health. A marketing request does not need to explain a treatment history or health concern. Keep the message focused on the postal preference.
A logo or a familiar layout does not show who owns the mailing list or where your address came from. Write to the business that is actually named on the piece. Some cards look like an invoice for a visit. Check those against your own records before paying anything.
Example request to a pest-control sender
Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.
If a second brand appears
A card with a different company name needs its own request. If the new card lists the same phone number or website as the first, ask that company whether your existing request covers the second name. If it says no, or the details differ, write to the new sender directly.
