Prevent an old shipping address from reviving catalogs
Before your next order, open the saved addresses on the store's own site and remove or correct the old one. Then make your catalog choice as a separate decision, so the shipping address and your marketing preference are not left to defaults.
Check the checkout before you buy
- Sign in on the store's site and open the saved addresses, if it shows them. Note which one is set as the default.
- Remove or replace the old address, and confirm the recipient name matches the new delivery.
- Look for a catalog or marketing mail option at checkout or in account settings. If one exists, choose it deliberately.
- For a gift order, ship to the recipient without adding them to your own catalog preferences.
- When the next catalog arrives, check which address and name the label uses.
Two choices that look like one
The shipping address says where a package goes. The catalog preference says whether printed advertising continues. A store may link the two, so ask its customer service how a new order affects catalog mailing if the site does not explain it.
Only change catalogs addressed to you or to someone who has agreed you may help, and do not edit a shared account's addresses without the account holder's permission.
Pre-purchase checklist
Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.
If a catalog still reaches the old address
Send that store a stop request for the old address, quoting the name and address exactly as printed on the label, and note the date on your checklist.
