Identify the sender of postal offers after a marketplace purchase
Start with the name printed on the mailing, not the site where you bought something. A marketplace, a seller and an unrelated advertiser can each send paper offers. The timing of an order does not show which one sent this piece. Once you can name the sender, send your preference request to that company through its official contact route.
Work out who sent it
- Read the return address, the headline company name and the fine print. List each distinct name, even if two seem related.
- Beside each name, note whether it is the marketplace you ordered through, a seller you chose, or neither. Mark anything you cannot confirm as unknown.
- Type the web address for the apparent advertiser yourself and check its privacy or contact page for a mailed-marketing option.
- If you do not recognize the brand, ask that sender how it handles postal preferences and which name it has on file for your address.
- Send the request to the sender you identified with confidence. Leave the unconfirmed names on your list.
Leave ownership questions open
Do not assume the marketplace or seller supplied the address. If the mailer claims a connection, record that as a claim until verified. A guess can send the request to the wrong company.
Start with the printed sender, mailing name and label address. These identify the mailing you want changed. Leave order numbers and purchase records out of a routine marketing request, and ask why any additional information is needed. Keep order, subscription and warranty questions in their existing support channels.

Choose the first recipient
Write first to the name with the clearest link to the printed offer. If a later mailing shows a different company, add that company as a new row instead of expanding the first request.
