Report a marketing label missing your apartment number

If the label leaves off your apartment number, the sender's record may not match your full address. Quote the label exactly as printed, then give your complete address separately.

Steps when the apartment number is missing

  1. Write down the address exactly as printed. Do not add the apartment number to the label or the photo.
  2. Photograph the whole label with the sender's name or logo and the incomplete address clearly readable.
  3. Submit the photo through Junk Mail Magic. In your note, quote the printed address, then give your full address with the apartment number and label it as your actual delivery address.
  4. Ask the sender to search for your name at the address both with and without the apartment number.

What a missing apartment number means

The sender may simply have an incomplete entry for you, or it may be mailing to the building in general. Either way, your request covers only your own record. Other residents at the same street address are not part of it. If the piece reached you despite the missing number, say so in your note, so the sender knows the label is delivering to you.

If the mail keeps coming

If mail continues to arrive without your apartment number after your request has been processed, contact the sender by phone or email. Ask them to search the street address with your name and remove any matching records.
