Identify who sends a multi-business coupon envelope

An envelope of coupons from several local businesses is usually sent by a distribution company that sold ad space to each business. The sender and each advertiser inside are separate parties.

How to identify and handle a coupon pack mailer

  1. Check the outer envelope for a company name, logo, or return address belonging to the distributor and not to one of the advertisers inside.
  2. Photograph the outer envelope for Junk Mail Magic so the request is aimed at the sender of the package.
  3. Remember that stopping the envelope does not stop an advertiser who also mails you on its own.
  4. If one advertiser inside is the source of unwanted mail you receive separately, treat that piece as its own mailer and handle it on its own.

Distributor versus advertiser

The envelope distributor and the businesses advertised inside may offer different contact routes. Ask the distributor whether it can change delivery of the complete packet to your address. Contact a featured business separately if it also sends you its own addressed mail. Keep the outer label so each request describes the right piece.

Identify the distributor first

Find the distributor's name on the outer envelope and submit the request for that sender. Then deal separately with any individual advertiser whose mail you want to stop.

Have an unwanted advertisement ready?

Photograph one piece you are authorized to handle, with the sender and full mailing label visible. Review the details before submitting. The first request is free; the sender controls the response.
