Find the sender when the return address is a mail house
A printing or mailing company handles mail for many brands, and the return address may be theirs. The brand name, logo, or fine print on the piece usually shows who is actually marketing to you.
Steps to identify the actual sender
- Check the front of the piece for a brand name or logo. It usually shows who is marketing to you.
- Look inside and on the back for a legal footer, privacy notice, or contact address. These often name the company behind the mailing.
- Look on the brand's website for a privacy policy or contact page that mentions mailing-list removal.
- Photograph the label and any brand or contact details on the piece. Submit the photo through Junk Mail Magic with a note naming the brand as you understand it.
Why the return address may not help
Use the advertised brand's official website to find its postal opt-out or privacy contact. Compare that contact with any removal instructions printed inside the piece. If the return address belongs to a mailing company, ask the brand whether that company handles removal requests before sending personal details there.
Name the brand and the piece
Once you know the brand, confirm its removal channel on its website or by phone. In your Junk Mail Magic request, name the brand and mention the return address printed on the piece so the sender can tell which mailing you mean.
