Reduce garden-center brochures after attending a class
Tell the garden center which mail to keep and which mail to stop. Keep notices about any class you are still registered for. Stop later product and workshop brochures. Name both the registration and the brochure so the center knows which communications the request covers.
Keep class notices and stop brochures
- Sort the paper into two piles. Put class notices, such as schedule changes or materials lists, in one pile and sales brochures in the other.
- Copy the center's name, the brochure title and the mailing label text as printed.
- Type the center's web address yourself and look for communication preferences or an option for printed mail.
- Say in the request whether you have an active registration, and ask that its notices continue while printed promotions stop.
When the center keeps separate records
The center may keep class registrations and marketing lists together or separately. Ask what each request will change. Do not word the request as leaving a class or ending a membership. Leave out payment and enrollment papers.
If a brochure names a supplier or another company as the sender, treat that company separately. A request to the garden center may not cover it.
If class alerts also come by email or text, read the preference for that channel before you change anything. A paper request does not show what happens to email or text alerts.

Check the next notice and brochure
Compare the next class notice and the next brochure that arrive. If class notices stop while you are still registered, reply with the class name and ask the center to restore them separately from your marketing preference.
