Change a FirstEnergy Pennsylvania supplier-list preference

FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania eligible customer list is a specific information-sharing choice. Its March 2026 notice explains how customers can remove their information from the list supplied to licensed electricity suppliers. This differs from asking one advertiser to stop a postcard or choosing a different electricity supplier.

Use the utility’s own preference route

  1. Confirm the utility and Pennsylvania service account using your bill or established account. Use this procedure only when FirstEnergy’s notice applies to you; another utility may use different instructions.
  2. From FirstEnergy’s verified site, sign in and look for Manage My Account, then Supplier Release Information under My Information, as the notice directs. Its printed form and telephone options are alternatives if you cannot use the account route.
  3. Read the actual release choice before submitting it. Enter any required customer information only through the utility’s verified process, not into an advertising-removal request.
  4. Save the confirmation and the notice date. The notice says to update the choice every three years or be added back; check future utility notices rather than assuming this is permanent.

Limit the conclusion to this list

The Pennsylvania PUC’s 2025 order retained eligible customer lists and the recurring opportunity to restrict inclusion. It distinguishes that process from general advertising and supplier selection. A list restriction is not proof that every seller has deleted information obtained elsewhere.

If an unfamiliar supplier offer arrives later, record the sender and ask which mailing record produced it. Do not send the advertiser a utility bill, usage history or your complete customer number to explain the privacy choice.

Private supplier-list choice worksheet

Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.

Utility and state: [confirmed account provider, Pennsylvania] Notice date: [date] Preference route used: [verified account / official form / phone] Choice submitted: [exact wording] Confirmation or unanswered question: [details] Next notice or review date: [date stated by utility] Separate unwanted advertiser: [sender, if any] Do not include account numbers in this worksheet.

Keep a separate record of the election

Store the utility’s response with your private account records. If it names a future review or renewal date, record that exact date. Handle questions about electricity service, bills or changing suppliers separately from this release preference.

Use the official route described in this guide for this kind of mail. For a separate ordinary advertisement, Junk Mail Magic can help prepare a sender-specific removal request.
