Stop Mercy Corps and Prosper Global Mail
Mercy Corps is now Prosper Global. The current organization publishes donorservices@prosperglobal.org for mailing-list removal and 1-888-842-0842 for address-exchange preferences. Use the current contact even if an older appeal still carries the Mercy Corps name.
Use the current organization's contact
The official Prosper Global privacy policy states the Mercy Corps name change and directs list-removal requests to donorservices@prosperglobal.org. It covers mailing, email, text and solicitation-call lists. Specify paper fundraising mail if that is all you want stopped.
An old Mercy Corps envelope can still identify the record that needs updating. Include its printed name and mailing code; do not create a second request under a new spelling just because the website has rebranded. This guide covers both names together rather than implying two independent opt-out systems.
Record the exchange preference separately
The policy describes a limited group of appeal-letter donors eligible for postal-address exchanges, with other donors excluded. It publishes the same donor-services email or 1-888-842-0842 for opting out of future exchanges. Ask whether your record is eligible rather than assuming every donor is shared.
Stopping Prosper Global's appeals and avoiding future exchanges are independent instructions. If you want both, say both. A sharing acknowledgment alone is not confirmation that the organization's own fundraising letters will stop.
A request for an older Mercy Corps appeal
Replace the bracketed details with the exact label. Use the current published donor contact, not an email address guessed from the older organization name.
Please stop paper fundraising mail from Mercy Corps, now Prosper Global, for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. The appeal shows [Mercy Corps or Prosper Global name and donor or mailing code]. Please also exclude this record from future postal-address exchanges. Please confirm the mailing and exchange preferences updated, and any allowance for mail already prepared. I am not cancelling a monthly gift or asking you to stop necessary receipts or account communications.
Do not change the gift to change the mail
The current contact page separately identifies monthly-gift support. Keep gift amounts, cancellation and payment changes out of a mailing-list request. Ask whether receipts can remain available while paper appeals are suppressed.
If you still want selected updates by email, say that in your postal request. Do not send card details or a donation statement when a printed name, address and mailing code explain the issue. A legitimate preference change should not require replying to an unsolicited demand for payment.
Use current policy rather than old sharing promises
Some older Mercy Corps wording remains on the monthly-giving FAQ. Its email-sharing description differs from the current privacy policy. Rely on the current policy for the choice you are making, not an older blanket statement copied from a FAQ.
The privacy-request portal linked from the policy is an alternative with email verification and broader data-rights choices. That process is not a universal postal-delivery deadline. For a simple paper preference, use the donor-services instruction and save its acknowledgment. If another charity holds your address, request removal from that sender separately.
Preserve the old name and mailing code
Use the label to explain the record to the current donor team yourself. A brand-name change is not evidence that a different charity sent the letter.
