How to Stop Doctors Without Borders Mail
Doctors Without Borders USA lets you request quarterly, annual or no mail. Use its contact-preference form, email donations@newyork.msf.org or call 1-888-392-0392. Specify paper appeals and the recipient on the label.
Contact the U.S. donor team
The mail-preference answer on the MSF USA ways-to-give page lists the available frequencies and Donor Services contacts: donations@newyork.msf.org and 1-888-392-0392.
This guide covers U.S. fundraising mail, including the name Médecins Sans Frontières. If the envelope comes from another national office, check that office's official contact. Do not send a U.S. donor team a request based only on a familiar organization name without checking the return address.
Choose no appeals or a specific schedule
The contact-information and mailing-preferences page offers a form. If it will not load, use Donor Services. Do not use a newsletter signup at the bottom of a page as a paper-mail removal form.
Please set my MSF USA postal fundraising preference to [no mail, quarterly or annual]. The recipient is [name and complete address exactly as printed].
Please keep necessary donation receipts and leave my recurring gift unchanged. Please confirm the preference and the current processing period for paper mail.
List any additional recipient spelling that appears on your appeals. When you choose a reduced schedule, ask whether that covers all fundraising appeal types you receive. Keep the request about the mailing record, not a patient story or medical information inside the appeal.
Official pages give different wait times
The ways-to-give FAQ gives six to eight weeks for mailing changes. The preference form's explanatory text says ten to twelve weeks for paper mail, while its heading gives another update range. Do not treat the shortest number as a guaranteed deadline.
Ask Donor Services which timeframe applies to your request. Keep its answer with the date you contacted it. Mail prepared in advance may continue arriving; if it persists after the stated period, share the earlier confirmation and the newest label so the team can check the record.
A Lifeline gift needs its own instruction
Changing appeal frequency does not authorize stopping a monthly donation. If you want a Lifeline gift changed too, handle that separately through the official donor account or Donor Services. A response about postal preferences is not proof that payment instructions changed. Junk Mail Magic does not cancel recurring gifts.
You can make a direct mailing request without buying an app or making another donation. For unrelated organizations, see our charity-mail guide. Keep each sender's request and reply together so you can tell which organization still needs a follow-up.
Need to identify another fundraising letter?
MSF USA publishes direct donor contacts above. For another unwanted appeal, photograph its sender and address label without receipts or financial records. Your first request is free.
