How to Stop Citizens Bank Promotional Mail
Citizens publishes additional choices to limit mail, telephone and email marketing. Use its General Marketing Practices contact for paper promotions, not a cookie-only opt-out.
Call the General Marketing Practices contact
The Citizens Privacy Notices page links General Marketing Preferences to its marketing instruction. It lists 1-800-922-9999, available around the clock, for choices that include mail marketing.
Ask to stop promotional postal mail, using the name and full delivery address printed on the unwanted piece. If you want email or phone promotions to continue, make that clear rather than requesting an undefined all-channel change.
Before ending the request, ask which recipient record or product the change covers. Save the date and any confirmation reference. A conversation about general privacy is not enough to tell you that a paper-mail preference was recorded.
Check that this is the same Citizens
The cited policy is for Citizens Financial Group and its named family, including Citizens Bank, N.A. It also names brands such as Citizens Access. Check the legal sender, website and return address on the piece rather than relying only on the word Citizens.
These instructions should not be applied to an unrelated bank or credit union with a similar name. Open the institution's official site yourself if the sender is different. If a partner sent the promotion, ask whose mailing record it used and which company can suppress it.
A student-loan advertisement is also different from an account notice about an existing loan. Read the purpose before choosing a marketing request. Do not send payment details or private loan documents with the request.
Do not substitute cookie or sharing controls
Citizens separately publishes consumer information-sharing choices and California privacy rights. The site's online-advertising controls are not the General Marketing Practices contact for paper mail.
Use those other controls if you want the separate change they describe, but do not assume that disabling browser tracking removes a printed delivery address. If the goal is fewer envelopes, ask the published marketing contact to confirm the postal choice.
Old addresses and later promotions need a precise follow-up
The policy uses the same customer contact for inaccurate information. If you moved, ask how to correct the account address and whether the old marketing address needs a separate update. Do not delete or replace an address without checking where required account documents will go.
Keep one example of a later promotion so support can compare the name, address and sender with the request. The marketing section does not publish a fixed postal cutoff. Ask for the current applicable mailing window instead of assuming that an email response promises an empty mailbox.
If the offer is prescreened through credit reporting companies, use the credit-offer guide for that separate list.
Keep bank documents private
Use authenticated bank support for statements, account changes or identity verification. Never upload those records, Social Security numbers, full account numbers, checks, passwords or verification codes to Junk Mail Magic. Preserve account and legal notices even when you no longer want advertisements.
Unwanted advertising from another sender?
Use Citizens directly for banking preferences and identity verification. For other paper advertising, a readable photo helps us identify the sender and prepare a request. Your first request is free.
