How to Stop ASPCA Fundraising Mail

ASPCA lists 1-800-628-0028 and solicitations@aspca.org for mailing-list changes. You can ask for no appeals, fewer appeals or a correction to duplicate records. Give the complete name and address printed on the mail.

Ask Member Support for the change you want

The ASPCA FAQ publishes 1-800-628-0028 and solicitations@aspca.org for removal, address updates and fewer solicitations. Its mailing-list answer also covers removing someone who has died.

Choose a definite instruction. “Less mail” and “no postal fundraising appeals” are different preferences. If you want removal, use those words rather than asking only for an address correction. A corrected address could still be a mailing address.

Please stop ASPCA postal fundraising solicitations for [full name and complete address as printed]. I am attaching or describing [each label variation] so you can check for duplicate records.

This is a postal communication request, not a request to cancel a donation. Please confirm which records and mailing preferences you changed.

Two copies may mean two records

ASPCA says duplicate member records are a likely cause of multiple mailings to one address. Put both labels beside each other before contacting support. Look for initials, old surnames, unit numbers and different recipients; send the complete details rather than only saying the street receives too much mail.

A useful follow-up identifies the exact remaining label. For example, a letter still addressed to an old surname is more informative than a count of envelopes. Ask whether support checked that version as well as your current name. Do not assume a preference attached to one person covers everyone living there.

Allow for mail prepared before the request

The FAQ allows up to 90 days before mailing changes become visible because pieces are prepared in advance. That is ASPCA's published window, not a promise that Junk Mail Magic can accelerate delivery suppression.

Record when you asked and any timeframe the representative gives you. If the same label keeps arriving beyond that period, send the earlier response and a recent example through the official contact. Ask what remains active instead of sending a new, incomplete request every few days.

Local shelters and monthly gifts are separate

ASPCA explains that it is not an umbrella organization for local SPCAs or shelters. Read the sender's full name. A local shelter appeal needs that shelter's own published contact, even if its name contains SPCA.

Its FAQ treats donation cancellation as another request. If you want to keep a Guardian monthly gift, say so when changing mail. Junk Mail Magic does not change that payment. For another recipient's mail after a death, see our deceased-person guide and use the appropriate official process without attaching unrelated financial documents.

Not sure which organization sent it?

An ASPCA request does not cover every shelter or SPCA. Photograph the actual sender and mailing label of another unwanted appeal. Your first request is free.
