Control vocational-school brochures and invitations
Brochures and open-house invitations from a vocational or trade school name that school as the sender. Write to its admissions or enrollment office and ask to be removed from mailed event and course promotions.
Write to the named school
- Find the school name, campus and any listed program on the mailing. Copy the recipient name and address exactly as printed.
- Find the contact page on the school's official website. Check whether it lists a preference for printed promotions.
- Ask the school to stop mailing event invitations and course brochures, and name both in the request.
- If you have started an enrollment or aid file there, say so and ask the school to limit the request to advertising.
- Record the school and the date you wrote, so you can trace any repeat mailing to your request.
Keep the request neutral
You do not need to explain why or comment on the program. Saying you no longer want mailed promotions is enough. One school may send separate mailings for different campuses or programs, so list each one you have received in the same request.

Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.
Check the next invitation
When another invitation arrives, check whether it came from the same school and campus you contacted. If it did, send a short follow-up with the date of your first request. If another school sent it, write to that school separately.
