Limit roadside membership upgrade mail

Write to the roadside provider and ask it to stop optional printed upgrade brochures. In the same request, say that you want to keep your membership and continue receiving renewal and service information.

Separate upgrades from your coverage

  1. Sort the brochures into upgrade pitches and anything about your current membership.
  2. Find the provider's contact details on its official website or your membership card.
  3. Ask whether it keeps a promotional mail preference that is separate from membership communications.
  4. Name what you want kept: renewal information, changes to your benefits and anything about service you have requested.
  5. File the reply with your membership papers.

Why narrow wording matters

Ask specifically about optional upgrade advertising and ask the provider to confirm the scope recorded. That wording expresses your intention; it does not prove how the company processed the request. Check the response before treating the task as complete.

If a mailer says coverage is about to lapse, verify it through the number on your membership card or another contact you already trust. Resolve any coverage question separately from the marketing preference.

Sample request to a roadside provider

Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.

Please stop optional printed upgrade and promotional brochures for [name as printed] at [mailing address]. I want to keep my current membership and continue receiving renewal information and service notices. Membership number, if needed to find my record: [number]. Please confirm what your marketing preference covers and that my coverage is unchanged.

If upgrade brochures return

Compare the new brochure's offer and date with your saved request. Reply to the same contact, describe the new piece, and ask what the provider's marketing preference currently records for your name.
