Reduce resort sales invitations after a presentation
To reduce invitations that follow a resort presentation, send the mailer's sender a written request to stop promotional mail. If you signed an agreement at the presentation, send any question about it in a separate message to the provider named in your paperwork.
Write two separate messages
- Copy the sender name and return address exactly as printed. One mailer can show a resort, a marketing company and a sales office, so note every name that appears.
- If you signed anything, find the provider and contact details named in that paperwork. Use those details for agreement questions, not the details on the invitation.
- Write the marketing request: stop printed sales invitations to your mailing name and address. Leave the agreement out of it.
- Keep a dated note of each message and its recipient so you can trace a repeat mailing.
Invitation versus agreement
A sales invitation is different from a signed agreement. A mailing preference does not cancel, change or dispute that agreement. The FTC says cancellation periods can depend on state law or the contract, so do not wait for a marketing reply to resolve a contract question. Check the actual paperwork through a verified provider contact or an appropriate adviser. If the mail claims a relationship you do not recognize, verify it separately.

Match later mail to your notes
When another invitation arrives, compare the sender name with your notes. A sender you already asked can get a short follow-up that gives your original request date. A new name needs its own request. Take legal or financial questions about an agreement to the provider or an appropriate official source.
