Find the official route to receive prescreened offers again
The official service offers Opt-In for people who previously opted out and want to be eligible for firm offers again. Use that option on OptOutPrescreen. Rejoining a marketing list is separate from applying for a credit card, loan or insurance policy.
Reach the service and read the option
- Open the official OptOutPrescreen site, using its link below or the FTC’s prescreen guidance.
- Choose the stated Opt-In option for a previous opt-out. The service describes this route for earlier online, phone and bureau requests.
- Read the current instructions and submit your own information through the official process. A bureau must be able to locate your file for it to become eligible for firm-offer lists.
- Keep the confirmation and date with your preference records, separate from any applications you later make.
Keep the confirmation apart from applications
Opt-In makes a matched credit file eligible for inclusion on the participating bureaus’ firm-offer lists. It does not promise that a particular lender will send an offer, that offers will arrive immediately, or that an application will be approved.
Check your earlier record if you are unsure whether you opted out at all; the FAQ says people who never opted out do not need to opt in. Preferences you gave individual advertisers are separate records to review with those senders.

Check the first offers
Record the completed preference change and keep its confirmation. If you later decide that you do not want covered prescreened offers, return to the official service to consider its opt-out options again.
