Reduce professional seminar brochures at an office

Ask the seminar provider to stop mailing optional course brochures, and say clearly that you still want instructions for any course you have booked. Send the request through the provider's official contact page and name the brochure series rather than the whole organization.

Separate booked courses from brochures

  1. Sort the brochures into one stack for courses you registered for and one for courses you never asked about.
  2. Keep the registration confirmation and any joining or venue instructions where they already live. Do not attach them to a marketing request.
  3. From an unrequested brochure, copy the provider name, brochure title and the name and address on the label.
  4. On the provider's official site, look for a contact or preferences option for mailed marketing, and check whether it treats brochures separately from registration messages.
  5. In the request, name the booked course and ask that only promotional brochures stop.

Keeping the booking reachable

A provider may keep your registration and your marketing on one contact record or on two. The brochure will not tell you which, so the request should state what to keep as well as what to stop.

If a colleague registered you, ask which name and address they used. A brochure printed with a different name variant may come from a separate record, so list each variant in the request. Only someone authorized to act for the office should send it.

Sample seminar brochure request

Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.

To [provider name]: Please stop mailing promotional seminar brochures to [name as printed] at [office address]. [Other name variants, if any]. I am registered for [course name and date], so please keep sending instructions and notices for that booking. This request covers printed marketing only.

Track replies and repeats

Keep a short list of providers, the name variants you reported and the date of each request. If a later brochure arrives from the same provider, cite that date in a follow-up. If the provider's reply says it cannot separate marketing from registration mail, ask how it will keep sending your course instructions.
