Reduce a new-home renovation coupon book
Send one request to the company that publishes the coupon book, not to every contractor inside it. Ask the publisher to stop future editions at your address and to tell you which name and address its record uses.
Find the publisher and ask about the next edition
- Check the cover, spine, back page and mailing label for a publisher name. The publisher is the business named as producing or distributing the book, which may differ from the contractors featured inside.
- Copy the mailing name and address from the label exactly as printed, including any unit number or abbreviation.
- Look up the publisher yourself and ask whether it offers an opt-out for printed editions, and whether that opt-out covers every area or edition it mails.
- Name the coupon book, the next edition and the current address in your request, and ask the publisher to confirm which record it changed.
- Write to a single contractor only when that business mailed something on its own, separate from the book.
When the label shows an old name
After a move, the book may arrive addressed to a previous owner or to a generic resident line. Give both the name and the address as printed and say which one you want removed. That gives the publisher what it needs to find the record.
If you cannot find a publisher name anywhere on the book, ask one of the featured businesses who distributes it rather than sending removal requests to all of them. Keep closing and loan paperwork with your home records. None of it is needed for this request.
Example publisher request
Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.
Keep the cover for comparison
Keep the cover or label after you send the request. If another edition arrives, compare its publisher name and label with your copy. If they match, reply to your earlier message and use any timing the publisher gave you. If the publisher is different, start a separate request.
