Reduce renovation-related advertising after a project
After a renovation, advertising from flooring, appliance, paint, and home-goods companies can arrive for months. Start by separating project documents from promotional mail, then deal with the advertising.
How to reduce post-renovation advertising mail
- Set aside anything that carries a contractor's name, a warranty card, a permit reference, or a service contract. Those are project records, so keep them.
- Check the remaining advertising for senders you have an active account or warranty with. Contact those companies directly before submitting a request, so your account is not affected.
- For brands and retailers you have no account or purchase history with, photograph each piece separately with the mailing label and sender name readable. Review the prepared details, sign in, and submit each photo as its own request.
- If a national chain you still shop at is sending advertising you do not want, you can ask to stop its mailings alone. Your store account is a separate matter.
How renovation advertising finds you
Contractors sometimes share customer addresses with suppliers, and building-permit records are public in many places, so list brokers can use them. You do not need to know how your address reached a sender to ask for removal. If a piece has no readable sender name, or the return address does not match the company name, contact support at Junk Mail Magic support before submitting.
Start with the most frequent senders
Start with the advertisers you no longer need and save one label from each. Keep supplier invoices and warranty documents separate. Record the request dates, then compare later advertising with those labels before following up.
