Keep a coupon while requesting less mail
Promotional mailers often include a perforated coupon. If you want to use the coupon and also ask for less mail from that sender, take your photo first, while the piece is still whole.
How to photograph a mailer before detaching the coupon
- Check where the recipient label, sender name and coupon are printed before tearing anything off.
- Take a readable photo that shows the sender and full label on this one mailing. If that is impossible, ask support first.
- Read the coupon terms if you plan to use it, including any dates or membership conditions that matter to you.
- Review the prepared postal removal request separately from any purchase or coupon redemption.
Coupons and removal requests
Keeping a coupon and changing a postal preference are two different tasks. The coupon's terms determine how it can be used. Ask the sender if you need to know whether changing a mail preference affects that particular offer. A removal request by itself does not establish what will happen to a discount.
If mail keeps coming
Redeem the coupon through the store or website as usual. If mail from that sender continues after a reasonable wait, contact the company through its customer service or privacy contact. For catalogs, see stop catalogs in the mail guide.

Photograph one piece you are authorized to handle, with the sender and full mailing label visible. Review the details before submitting. The first request is free; the sender controls the response.
