Keep the label from a catalog's plastic wrapper

When a catalog arrives in a clear plastic sleeve, the mailing label is often printed on or stuck to that outer layer, not the catalog itself. If you discard the wrapper first, you may lose the address details you need.

How to capture the wrapper label

  1. Check whether your recipient label is on the wrapper, the catalog or both before separating them.
  2. Lay the label side flat and move the light until reflections stop hiding the small print.
  3. Frame the full label with a readable sender name, including the visible cover if that identifies the company.
  4. If the wrapper and cover cannot show both details clearly in one photo, keep them together and contact support before submitting.

When the sender is on the cover only

Some retailers print a generic distribution label on the plastic and put their brand only on the cover. If your wrapper photo does not show who sent the catalog, photograph the cover as well and compare the two. If neither photo can show both the sender and your label, contact support before submitting.

Before you discard the wrapper

Keep the plastic until you have checked that your photo is readable. If you already threw it out and the photo is blurry, look for a label on the catalog's back cover. If you still cannot make a clear photo, contact support at Junk Mail Magic support.
