Handle a catalog from a related brand

You may get a catalog from a brand you never ordered from but that shares a parent company with one you have. A shared parent does not guarantee a shared mailing preference. Treat the catalog you received as its own sender.

How to request removal from a related brand

  1. Photograph the label on the related brand's catalog, with the brand name and your address readable.
  2. Submit that photo through Junk Mail Magic to identify the sending brand and prepare a request.
  3. Review the details, sign in and send the request for that brand only. Do not send it in the name of the brand you already use.
  4. Ask the sending brand whether it shares its list with sister brands. If catalogs from another brand keep coming, submit a photo of that brand's label as a separate request.

Why one form may not cover every brand

Some parent companies manage mailing preferences centrally and others leave each brand to its own list. You cannot tell which applies from the catalog, so ask. Contacting the brand you already know may not reach the list that sends the catalog you want to stop. Start with the name printed on the catalog you received. Each brand's answer tells you whether another request is needed.

A practical next step

Note each brand's name and the date you contacted it. If a related brand's catalog keeps arriving after your result comes back, photograph that label and submit it as its own request.

Have an unwanted advertisement ready?

Photograph one piece you are authorized to handle, with the sender and full mailing label visible. Review the details before submitting. The first request is free; the sender controls the response.
