Choose paper event mail from a botanical garden
Ask the garden by name for the mail you want, such as the seasonal event calendar, and list the categories to stop. A request that names what you want to keep is clearer than asking the garden to stop all mail.
Build a three-category keep list
- Sort recent mail into three groups: event calendars or program guides, fundraising appeals, and partner or general promotional offers.
- Mark each group keep or stop.
- Find the garden's contact route on its official website, such as visitor services, membership or development, and check whether it has a communication preferences option.
- Write the request from your marks and include your name and address exactly as printed.
- Ask whether the calendar goes to members, event registrants or a general list. The answer shows which record to change.
If the choices are bundled
The garden decides whether it can mail the calendar without appeals or partner offers. If it cannot separate them, ask which options it does offer before you accept a full stop. Ask it to confirm that the request leaves any membership or recurring gift unchanged.

Check each category
As new mail arrives, mark each piece under one of the three categories on your list. If an appeal or partner offer still arrives, send the label text to the same office and ask which record that mailing came from.
