How to Stop Wells Fargo Promotional Mail
Wells Fargo publishes a Do Not Mail choice for promotional mail. Use the route for your relationship with the bank, and keep account documents separate.
Choose Do Not Mail, not only Do Not Call
The Wells Fargo U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice gives customers 1-888-528-8460 for limiting direct marketing by mail or telephone. Follow the menu for paper-mail preferences. A phone-marketing election alone is not the postal choice.
Online and mobile customers can sign in, open My Profile or Profile, and select Change Privacy Preferences or Privacy Preferences. Use your own banking session, not a login link in an unexpected message. Select the postal setting and keep the confirmation after saving it.
Have the envelope ready before starting. Match the printed recipient, address and any campaign reference to the request. If a joint account or another recipient is involved, ask whose marketing record the change covers rather than assuming a whole-household opt-out.
Not a Wells Fargo customer?
The bank's Privacy Center FAQ directs people without a Wells Fargo account to 1-800-869-3557 for direct-marketing choices. Say you want to stop promotional postal mail for the label in front of you. There is no need to open a bank account just to ask about a mailing record.
If the piece belongs to a previous resident, explain the incorrect delivery record. Do not claim to be that person or supply guessed account details. Our previous-resident guide explains that separate situation.
Remember the three-year postal election
The consumer notice says Do Not Mail lasts three years. Its Do Not Call duration is different. Record the postal election date and set your own reminder to review it before it expires; do not treat a call-only confirmation as the same result.
The notice also allows promotional material inside regular statements and account mailings. An insert in a statement is not the same as a new standalone marketing envelope. Keep the statement and compare the type of mail before reporting that the opt-out failed.
Check which Wells Fargo business sent it
The cited notice excludes businesses with separate notices, including Wells Fargo Retail Services and Wells Fargo Advisors entities. Check the issuer or business name on the piece and use its applicable notice. One preference should not be presented as a promise to stop every mailing carrying the Wells Fargo name.
For an offer based on a consumer-report list, use the prescreened credit-offer guide as well. That list is not changed merely by updating one bank's customer preferences.
Keep private account mail out of the photo request
Do not upload statements, tax forms, checks, credit applications, identity documents, Social Security numbers or a full account number to Junk Mail Magic. Bank login credentials and verification codes stay with the bank. Review unfamiliar account or security notices through authenticated support rather than treating them as advertising.
Have another unwanted paper mailer?
Use Wells Fargo directly for bank preferences and identity checks. For a catalog or other advertising mailer, a clear photo helps us identify the sender and prepare a request. Your first request is free.
