How to Stop Special Olympics Fundraising Mail

Special Olympics publishes a form for no paper mail, quarterly mail or annual mail. Its Donor Services team also accepts communication-preference requests.

Use the form linked from the donor FAQ

The official donor FAQ links to Update your mail preferences. The form offers removal, quarterly mail, annual mail and an option to describe another schedule. Choose the one you want instead of submitting several conflicting preferences.

Enter the recipient name and address as printed. A nickname in the first-name field or a missing apartment number can make matching harder. Keep the envelope nearby until you have a result from your own submission; merely opening the form does not change a record.

The form's browser title is Sign Up, but its visible heading and choices concern postal preferences. Review those controls rather than assuming a generic title means that you have joined or left a mailing list.

Donor Services is an alternative

The FAQ names donorservices@specialolympics.org and 1-800-380-3071 for preference changes. Use those contacts if the form does not load, your address format does not fit, or you need help matching duplicate records.

Please stop Special Olympics postal fundraising appeals for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].

Please keep gifts and necessary receipts unchanged. Please confirm the postal preference recorded and the allowance for mail already prepared. Additional printed recipient versions are [list any duplicates].

If you prefer quarterly or annual mail, replace the removal sentence with that choice. An email-only unsubscribe is not a substitute for identifying the paper record. Do not include a card number, password or banking document in the message.

Check whether the appeal is national or local

A local event, state program and Special Olympics International appeal may have different sender details. Compare the organization name and return address before choosing a contact. This national form is not proof that every local program changed its own mailing record.

If the envelope clearly comes from a local program, use the official contact for that program and describe the same postal outcome. Do not send fundraising preferences to an athlete-registration, medical or research-participation contact just because it also uses the Special Olympics name.

Allow for the published production schedule

The FAQ explains that production can mean six to eight weeks before a preference takes effect in the mail. That allowance is not a guarantee that every envelope will stop on a particular day.

Save the response alongside the original label. If a later appeal arrives beyond the allowance support gave you, send its label and reference the earlier request. Ask whether it is the same record or a different program before repeating the whole process. This guide does not cancel donations, send the template or confirm an opt-out on your behalf.
