Stop Parkinson's Foundation Mail
Parkinson's Foundation directs mailing-list removal and duplicate-copy requests to Donor Relations: DonorRelations@Parkinson.org or 1-800-473-4636, option 2. Its FAQ allows six to eight weeks for postal updates because lists are prepared in advance. Email updates are a different process.
Contact the donor team, not a newsletter signup
The Foundation's frequently asked questions specifically covers duplicate mailings and removal from mailing or email lists. Email DonorRelations@Parkinson.org or call 1-800-473-4636 and choose option 2.
Specify Parkinson's Foundation and the paper piece in front of you. A letter from the Michael J. Fox Foundation or another Parkinson's organization belongs to a different sender. A shared cause does not mean the organizations share one removal record.
Handle duplicates differently from a full stop
The FAQ explains that donations made with different email or mailing addresses can create duplicate records. If you want one copy rather than no mail, ask Donor Relations to investigate those records and preserve your chosen communication preference.
Lay the envelopes side by side. Note different initials, former addresses, ZIP codes and donor numbers. Send the variations that you can actually see rather than guessing how many accounts exist. If you want no paper appeals at all, make that instruction clear for each identified record.
Adapt a postal-removal request
This draft asks for no paper fundraising mail. Change the first sentence if you only want duplicate copies corrected, and remove any unrelated preference.
Please stop Parkinson's Foundation paper fundraising mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. My recent labels show [donor codes and name or address variations, if any]. Please check those records for duplicate mailings. I also ask to be excluded from future exchanges of donor names and mailing addresses. Please confirm what was updated and any allowance for mail already prepared. This request does not cancel a donation or request removal from services.
Address exchanges are another choice
The Foundation's privacy policy describes sharing donor names and mailing addresses through a cooperative database. It publishes the same Donor Relations email for opting out of those exchanges. Ask for that choice explicitly if you want it in addition to the Foundation's own paper-mail removal.
Keep the team's acknowledgment. If an unrelated charity already has your address, a future exchange preference is not confirmation that its existing list was changed. Use the other charity's own postal contact for the next unwanted appeal.
Allow for the postal update, not the email update
The FAQ's six-to-eight-week allowance concerns mailing-list updates. It is not an immediate last-delivery guarantee. Email changes are described separately as immediate; do not apply that timing to envelopes already in production.
After the stated allowance, follow up with a specific new piece and your original request date. Ask whether its label is a duplicate that was missed. Do not send a diagnosis, care history, card number or security code in a mailing-preference message. Donation administration belongs in the Foundation's appropriate secure support process.
Keep every distinct mailing label
Compare duplicate labels before contacting Donor Relations yourself. The printed variations can reveal which record still needs attention.
