How to Stop Optimum Promotional Mail
Optimum publishes a Do Not Mail contact for promotional paper mail. Its policy gives that preference a 12-month term, so keep the request date rather than assuming it lasts forever.
Ask for Do Not Mail, not just Do Not Call
The additional opt-outs section of Optimum's current privacy policy directs promotional-call and mailing requests to Research-and-Support@optimum.com or 888-822-5151. Specify Do Not Mail when paper advertising is the problem.
Have a recent offer available. Match the recipient and complete delivery address, including an apartment or suite. If the item has a mailing identifier, mention the actual identifier rather than guessing an account number.
Please add [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code] to Optimum Do Not Mail for promotional postal mail.
Please confirm the date this preference is recorded and when its 12-month term ends. Keep necessary service and transactional messages unchanged.
This wording concerns paper promotions only. Add a separate Do Not Call request if you also want to change marketing calls. An email unsubscribe link changes a different channel.
Record the 12-month term
Optimum says Do Not Mail requests apply for 12 months and may take up to 30 days to take effect. Save the dated request and any reply. Those are the provider's published terms, not a promise that the mailbox becomes empty immediately.
If you still want suppression near the end of that term, contact the published route again and ask about renewal. Keep any newer confirmation with the original. A personal calendar reminder can help; this guide does not automatically renew your preference.
Leave account notices alone
The policy allows service and transactional messages after a promotional opt-out. Bills, equipment notices and account correspondence need to be handled through the appropriate account channel, not treated as advertisements.
Do not upload a bill, password, payment details or identity document to Junk Mail Magic. For an ordinary promotional piece, a readable sender and delivery label are enough to start identifying the mailer. Keep private account records out of that photo.
Use the preference for the company on the piece
Optimum's browser advertising, TV recommendation and de-identified audience choices are separate controls. Changing one does not establish that a postal record was suppressed.
If another offer arrives after the processing allowance, compare its label with your request and ask support to check that record. If Xfinity or a different provider sent it, use that sender's process instead. An Optimum request does not cover every internet provider advertising in your neighborhood.
