How to Stop Heifer International Mail

Heifer International has a direct-mail removal form that asks for your last name and Mail Code. Donor Services can also handle a request when you cannot find that code or want a narrower change.

Find the code before opening the form

Heifer's Direct Mail Preferences page has required Last Name and Mail Code fields. Its code-help panel provides examples from a reply piece and the back of a gift catalog. Use the identifier on your own mail, not a number copied from an example.

Keep the relevant page or envelope while you complete the request. The code is a record-matching detail, not a donation amount, ZIP code or payment credential. If your label is torn or the catalog is gone, do not invent an identifier just to get past the form.

The page contains success and error messages in its markup. Seeing those words in a search excerpt is not evidence that your request was submitted. Look for the result of your own completed form and retain its date.

Use Donor Services if the code is missing

The removal page publishes info@heifer.org and 855-948-6437. Explain that you want to stop postal appeals and cannot locate the mailing code. Give the name and address printed on the latest item so support can identify the record.

Please stop Heifer International postal fundraising mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. My Mail Code is [code from my own mail, if available].

Please keep my gifts and necessary donation receipts unchanged. Please confirm the mailing preference recorded and what allowance applies to mail already prepared.

Delete the code sentence if you do not have it. Heifer's FAQ asks for full name, address, phone and email when contacting support about mailing preferences. Use the contact details for your own record; do not attach a bank statement or card image.

Keep World Ark without monthly updates

The current Heifer FAQ describes separate requests to keep World Ark while stopping monthly mail updates, or to receive only email. Those are narrower than removal from every paper mailing.

Choose the outcome before contacting support. If you want the magazine, replace the first template paragraph with that preference. If you want email only, make clear that you are retaining email updates rather than asking to unsubscribe from that channel too.

Do not combine the published waiting periods

The removal page's processing note allows up to six weeks and says mail can still arrive during that time. The FAQ describes one or two mailing cycles. Do not convert those cycles into an invented number of days or promise a final delivery date.

Ask which allowance applies to your request, then save the reply. If later mail uses a different name or code, send that label with the earlier request. A preference change is not a gift cancellation, and this guide concerns Heifer International rather than every separate foundation or organization using the Heifer name.
