How to Stop Greenpeace USA Mail

Greenpeace USA directs communication changes to Supporter Care at connect@greenpeace.us or 1-800-722-6995. Its membership FAQ says these requests must not come through third parties, so make the request yourself.

Make the request directly to Supporter Care

The current membership FAQ publishes connect@greenpeace.us, 1-800-722-6995 and a postal Supporter Care address. It names communication changes alongside other membership tasks and excludes requests through third parties.

Write from your own contact address or call yourself. Identify the printed recipient and address, and say no postal fundraising appeals. If a member ID appears on the piece, keep it available. A mail-removal app's receipt is not confirmation that Greenpeace accepted a request from you.

I am contacting Greenpeace USA directly to request no postal fundraising appeals for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. My member reference, if present, is [reference].

Please also record that I do not want my postal address exchanged with other organizations. Please confirm each preference separately, without changing my existing pledge or other necessary account communications.

If you are not a supporter

The FAQ explains that non-supporter mail can result from list exchange and gives Supporter Care as the route if its suggested steps do not resolve the issue. Tell the team you have not donated and identify the actual piece. You do not need to become a member to explain an unwanted appeal.

If you have supported another organization, ask that organization about its future address-sharing preference too. Do not accuse a particular sender of supplying your address without evidence. A similar campaign theme does not identify the source of a record.

A broad do-not-mail service is not a replacement for describing a specific envelope to Greenpeace. Keep the label until the response identifies the record and preference changed. If the recipient is someone else, explain that fact instead of impersonating them.

Sharing, email and pledges are different changes

The FAQ treats postal-address exchange and email unsubscribe separately. If you want online campaign updates retained, make that clear. If you want future sharing stopped, name that choice even when you are also stopping Greenpeace's own paper appeals.

Do not make a pledge change merely to reduce mail. If you genuinely want a giving change, use Supporter Care for that separate task and verify it independently. The FAQ's two-business-day timing concerns scheduled monthly pledge changes; it is not a promised paper-mail suppression deadline.

Keep card numbers and banking documents out of email. For a mailing request, the recipient, postal address and member reference are the useful identifying details. Copying this template does not send a message or authorize a third party to make the request.

Check a repeat renewal notice for duplicate records

The FAQ notes that renewal files are organized before mailing and that continuing reminders can warrant a duplicate-account check. If you already renewed, state that separately from your communication preference, rather than treating every reminder as a new charge.

Save your direct request and response. Compare subsequent labels and member references, and ask whether another record remains. These instructions concern Greenpeace USA; they do not establish that a different national Greenpeace office has changed its list.

Contact Greenpeace yourself

Use Supporter Care for this preference. Greenpeace does not accept these requests through third parties; an app submission is not a substitute for your direct request.
