How to Stop Feeding America Mail

Ask Feeding America Donor Services at 1-800-910-5524 to remove your name from its postal mailing list. Its giving FAQ also offers online contact and a Chicago address for written removal requests.

Choose removal or a reduced schedule

The Feeding America giving FAQ publishes 1-800-910-5524 for mailing-list removal. It also says Donor Services can discuss reduced mailing schedules if you prefer fewer letters rather than none.

Use a clear request for postal fundraising mail. An address update alone does not describe an opt-out. If you still want selected messages, tell the representative which ones and ask what reduced schedule will be recorded.

Please remove [name and complete address as printed on the label] from Feeding America postal fundraising mailings.

Please keep necessary donation receipts. I am not requesting a change to my monthly gift. Please confirm this postal preference and the timeframe for mail already prepared.

Online and written requests use different addresses

The FAQ links the online contact page. If its contact form does not load, use the published Donor Services phone route. Do not assume that opening the page sent a request.

For a written removal request, the FAQ specifies Feeding America, 161 North Clark Street, Suite 700, Chicago, IL 60601. Include a copy of the mailing label and use a properly addressed, stamped envelope. This is the listed removal address, not the separate donation lockbox.

Keep the original appeal until you receive a response, particularly if it has a printed reference that may help support find your record. There is no reason to enclose a donation or payment details with a postal preference request.

The published wait is up to ten weeks

Feeding America says its advance data preparation and printing can mean up to ten weeks before mail stops. An appeal within that window does not by itself show that the request was ignored.

Save the date and confirmation. If mail continues beyond the period the team gives you, provide a recent label and the earlier case details. Ask whether the same recipient record remains active. Avoid sending unrelated receipts just to demonstrate that you once donated.

Do not confuse national and local mail

Read the organization and return address on the envelope. Feeding America's FAQ links a local food bank locator, but a local food bank's appeal should be matched to that food bank's own official contact. Do not assume a national removal request covers every network member.

The same FAQ treats email unsubscribe and monthly-gift cancellation separately. Keep a mail-only request separate from changes in the Account Center or recurring payments. Junk Mail Magic does not cancel donations. For other charities at the same address, follow the sender-by-sender process rather than using one charity's support team for the whole pile.

Is the sender a local food bank instead?

Match the organization on the appeal before requesting removal. If you want help identifying another unwanted mailer, photograph its sender and label. Your first request is free.
