How to Stop Environmental Defense Fund Mail

Environmental Defense Fund links its postal-mail preference to a Member Services form. That form separates removal, less mail and information updates, including duplicate mailings.

Follow the Member Services link in the policy

EDF's privacy statement links to its Membership Request form for postal preferences. In Inquiry Type, the actual choices include "Remove me from further mailings" and "I want to receive less mail."

Pick the outcome first. Less mail is not the same instruction as no appeals, and changing an address is not removal. Conditional fields may depend on the inquiry type, so review the choices that appear before sending your own request.

The form is hosted on tfaforms.com and is directly linked by EDF's policy. Reach it through that official source rather than an unrelated search advertisement. Opening the linked form does not submit anything or confirm a record change.

Use the label to describe the record

Keep the printed recipient, unit number and any identifier with your request. If the name is wrong or the same household receives multiple copies, explain that instead of replacing every version with one preferred spelling.

The form's information-update menu includes duplicate mailings. That can help describe the problem, but combining duplicate records is different from asking for all paper appeals to stop. State both outcomes if that is what you want.

Please stop Environmental Defense Fund postal fundraising mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. Please check these additional printed name or address versions: [duplicates, if any].

Please also suppress future rental or exchange of this record to unaffiliated organizations. Keep gifts and necessary receipts unchanged, and confirm both preferences and the allowance for mail already prepared.

List sharing is a separate preference

The statement describes a prospective opt-out from rental or exchange with unaffiliated organizations through Member Services. It says email addresses and phone numbers are not rented or exchanged. Request the relevant postal-record preference explicitly; do not assume a browser advertising setting performs that change.

Remove the second template paragraph if you only want EDF's own appeals stopped. Ask for a reply that distinguishes the two decisions. One sender's confirmation does not establish that an outside organization has deleted a record it already holds.

Keep the follow-up tied to your original request

EDF allows 30 to 60 days for addresses in mailings already underway. This is production guidance, not a guaranteed last-delivery date or proof that a request succeeded.

Save the date and result of your submission. If another appeal arrives beyond the allowance support gave you, include its label in the same conversation and ask which record remains active. Check the printed sender, including whether it names EDF or a related organization, before assuming one form changed every affiliate's list. No payment or account deletion is needed just to describe a paper-mail preference.
