How to Stop Covenant House Paper Mail

Covenant House International directs physical-mail opt-outs to info@covenanthouse.org. The same policy gives a separate request for stopping the sharing of postal and email addresses.

Use the physical-mail paragraph

The Covenant House International privacy policy expressly directs people who do not want physical mail to info@covenanthouse.org. This is a published address, not an inferred privacy inbox.

Write that you want postal fundraising appeals stopped. Add the exact name and full address printed on the envelope so the request describes the paper record, not just the email account sending it. If you still want electronic updates, say so rather than asking to remove every form of contact.

Please stop Covenant House International physical fundraising mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].

Please also stop sharing this postal-address record with other organizations. Keep necessary donation receipts and leave my recurring gift unchanged. Please confirm the preferences recorded.

Decide whether to stop address sharing

The policy says postal and email addresses may be made available to other nonprofit and commercial organizations. It directs requests not to share that information to the same contact. Specify postal address only if you do not also want to change your email-sharing preference.

Remove the second template paragraph if you want only Covenant House mail stopped. If you keep it, ask for confirmation of both decisions. A no-sharing preference should not be mistaken for proof that every other organization has deleted its own address record.

For several envelopes from several charities, save one label from each sender. Send each request to the relevant organization rather than copying a long recipient list into one email. That keeps your postal address and any donor reference out of unrelated inboxes.

Check whether the appeal is international or local

This route comes from Covenant House International's website. Read the return address and organization name before using it for a letter from a local Covenant House site. The international policy is not evidence that one request updates every local organization's list.

If the envelope names a local sender, find that sender's official contact and describe the mail in front of you. If you are unsure, ask the international contact which team holds the record before forwarding personal details. The charity-mail guide explains this sender-by-sender approach.

Keep a usable confirmation

The policy does not publish a fixed paper-mail cutoff. Ask how long to allow for prepared mail and save the response. Do not borrow a deadline from another charity or treat an email unsubscribe confirmation as a postal one.

If another appeal arrives later, compare its label with the one in your request. Note a different spelling, unit or donor reference in your follow-up. Copying this template does not email Covenant House, cancel a donation or confirm a completed mailing change.
