How to Stop ChildFund Fundraising Mail

ChildFund International's U.S. policy provides an email and phone for direct-mail removal. It treats sharing through donor-list cooperatives as a separate preference.

Ask Supporter Care to stop paper appeals

The Direct Mail section of ChildFund's privacy policy names questions@ChildFund.org and 1-800-776-6767. State that your request concerns postal fundraising mail, not letters connected with a sponsored child or a change to a gift.

Copy the recipient name exactly as it appears on the envelope. Include the unit number and ZIP code, even if you normally omit them when writing your address. If two envelopes use different names, list both rather than assuming the household is one record.

Please stop ChildFund postal fundraising appeals for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. Keep my sponsorship, gifts, necessary receipts and sponsorship correspondence unchanged.

Please also stop future sharing of this donor record through nonprofit cooperatives. Please confirm that both the postal and sharing preferences have been recorded.

Request no list sharing separately

The policy says donors are included in nonprofit cooperative exchanges unless they opt out. For that request, it asks for the subject line "do not share" and full name and address. Use the same published contact; remove the second template paragraph if you only want to stop ChildFund's own appeals.

Do not describe a paper-mail opt-out as proof that another charity deleted its record. If a different sender contacts you later, keep its label and use that organization's own route. The charity-mail directory explains the difference between an appeal and a list-exchange preference.

The contact page is not an anonymous ticket form

ChildFund's current contact page tells supporters to log in before submitting a support ticket. The policy's published email and phone remain alternatives; simply opening the contact page does not submit your postal request.

Use the official login if you choose the ticket route. Do not put a password, bank account or card number in an ordinary removal email. You are asking support to match a mailing label, not authorizing a payment or asking anyone to impersonate another recipient.

Check later mail against the original request

The policy allows 30 to 60 days for addresses in mailings already underway. Its ten-business-day email and phone guidance is not the paper-mail allowance. None is a guaranteed last-delivery date.

Keep your request date and reply. If an appeal arrives beyond the allowance support gave you, send one recent label with the original conversation and ask which record remains active. Check the exact organization on the envelope: this guide concerns ChildFund International USA, not every similarly named child-support charity. Copying the wording does not send it or prove removal.
