How to Stop Boys Town Fundraising Mail
Boys Town's current contact page names Donor Services for direct-mail questions and mailing-list removal. Use 800-217-3700 or helpkids@hope.boystown.org, not its admissions contact.
Contact Donor Services for removal
The Boys Town contact page explicitly offers mailing-list removal through 800-217-3700 or helpkids@hope.boystown.org. Donor Services hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the page does not specify a time zone.
Have the current label ready. Boys Town's separate donor policy asks you to specify the request and provide your full name and relevant contact details. For paper appeals, the postal address is the record to identify. You do not need to call an admissions or family-help number to change a fundraising preference.
Please stop Boys Town postal fundraising appeals for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].
Please also prevent this postal-address record from being shared with other organizations. Keep necessary donation receipts and leave my monthly pledge unchanged. Please confirm both preferences.
Ask separately about postal-address sharing
The Donor Communications and Opt-Out Policy says donor postal addresses may be made available to other organizations, but donor email addresses and phone numbers are not shared or sold. It offers a separate request to prevent postal-address sharing.
Keep that distinction in your wording. Stopping Boys Town's own appeals is one preference; preventing future postal-address sharing is another. The policy's sharing statement is not evidence that an unrelated charity has removed a record it already holds.
If you want only the first change, remove the sharing sentence from the template. If you want both, keep both and check that the reply covers them, rather than accepting a general email-unsubscribe response.
Two official pages list different email addresses
The current Contact page uses the hope.boystown.org address above. The donor policy separately prints helpkids@boystown.org and Donor Relations, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010. Use the Contact page's published email or the phone number both pages share if you want to clarify where to send the request.
Do not invent a third address or assume the two printed addresses have identical handling. A message returned undeliverable is a reason to use the published phone route and ask support, not to send personal details to guessed variations.
A mail preference does not cancel a pledge
The contact page also handles monthly-pledge changes. Keep those out of a mail-only request unless you actually want them. Record the request date, the preference confirmed and the allowance support gives for prepared appeals; neither cited page publishes a fixed postal cutoff.
If mail continues, provide a recent label and your earlier confirmation. For another organization in the pile, use its own route from the charity-mail directory. Boys Town cannot change that organization's records.
