Stop Boys & Girls Clubs of America Mail
For national Boys & Girls Clubs of America mail, the current Donor Policy lists donor@bgca.org and 404-487-5700. It separately publishes donor_relations@bgca.org for list-exchange and contact preferences. First check whether your appeal comes from the national organization or a local Club.
Use the current national donor contact
BGCA's current Donor Policy publishes donor@bgca.org, with donor spelled in the singular, and 404-487-5700. Ask for no postal fundraising appeals and identify the printed name and complete address.
Its written opt-out address is National Headquarters, Resource Development-Operations, 7th Floor, 1275 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309. A written preference should state the mail you want stopped, not simply announce an address change that could keep delivery active.
Address sharing is an independent choice
The policy names donor_relations@bgca.org for exclusion from donor list exchanges or changes to how BGCA contacts you. Request that exclusion explicitly if you want it alongside the postal opt-out.
The current online privacy policy also describes nonprofit list rentals and exchanges. Do not rely on an old assertion that all email information is excluded from sharing. Choose the current preference you want and ask the donor team to confirm its scope.
A draft for the national donor team
Replace the placeholders with the unwanted label. This draft does not contact BGCA until you send it through the official route.
Please stop national Boys & Girls Clubs of America paper fundraising mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. The appeal shows [donor or mailing code, if present]. Please also exclude this donor record from future list rental or exchange activity. Keep my existing gift arrangements and necessary donation acknowledgments unchanged. Please confirm the record and preferences updated, and whether any mail is already prepared. Thank you.
A local Club needs its own request
Local Boys & Girls Clubs are separate legal entities. Read the sender, return address and organization named inside the letter. A national preference is not proof that your town's Club has changed its fundraising record.
If you receive both national and local appeals, save an example of each. Send each request to the organization that controls that mailing. Do not send a child's enrollment details, attendance record or other private Club information to identify an adult donor appeal.
Ask for a preference record, not a wiped history
BGCA says it records contact-discontinuance requests in its donor database. A retained suppression record is different from permission to keep mailing you. Ask for confirmation of the postal and exchange choices without requesting deletion of gift records you still need.
Compare later mail against the spelling and code you supplied. If a second variation was missed, provide that label in your follow-up. An oral conversation or sent email is not, by itself, evidence that every national and local record has changed.
Keep the national or local sender identifiable
Use the actual organization and mailing label when making your preference request yourself.
