How to Stop Audubon Mail

National Audubon Society lists mailing-list removal among the requests handled by Supporter Care. Contact support@audubon.org or 1-844-428-3826 and say which paper mail you want stopped.

Use Supporter Care, not the magazine editor

Audubon's contact page directs national-mailing and removal questions to support@audubon.org or 1-844-428-3826. Magazine editors and media contacts have different jobs; a reader letter is not a mailing-preference request.

Look at the outside of the appeal before writing. Copy the recipient and address, including an apartment or unit. Keep any printed member reference handy. A letter asking to stop paper appeals gives Supporter Care a clearer task than a message that only says unsubscribe.

Please stop National Audubon Society postal fundraising appeals for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. The printed member reference, if present, is [reference].

Please confirm which mailing preference you changed. My magazine preference is [keep or stop the printed magazine]. Please keep donations and necessary receipts unchanged.

Choose whether to keep the magazine

The same contact page lists magazine subscriptions and national mailings separately. If you enjoy the magazine but not appeals, put that distinction in your message. If both are unwanted, name both instead of assuming that one removal instruction covers every item.

A calendar or other enclosure can make an appeal look like a membership benefit. Describe the actual item and ask what list produced it. Do not send a payment to clarify a mailing record or renew a membership just to reach a preference screen.

For a household receiving copies under two names, compare the labels. Send the details for the record you are entitled to change. Do not claim to represent another adult merely because their magazine arrives at your address.

Ask separately about future sharing

Audubon's privacy policy also gives Supporter Care as the contact for stopping future sharing with third parties for direct marketing. Add that preference explicitly if it is wanted; it is a different instruction from stopping Audubon's own appeals.

An email unsubscribe or a text STOP does not identify the paper label in your mailbox. Keep those channel choices separate, especially if you still want conservation updates online. Ask the reply to distinguish postal removal from a change to email settings.

National mail and chapter mail may need different requests

Check the organization and return address. These contacts are for National Audubon Society. A local chapter or another organization using Audubon in its name may maintain a different record. Do not treat similar branding as proof that a national request changes that sender's list.

Keep a dated copy of your message and response. This contact page does not set a universal paper-mail stop date. If another item arrives, compare its label and ask whether it was prepared earlier, came from another record or concerns the magazine you chose to keep. A received-message acknowledgment alone does not answer those questions.

Keep the Audubon label readable

Photograph the sender and full mailing label. For Audubon preferences, contact Supporter Care yourself and save its response.
