How to Stop Alzheimer's Association Mail

The Alzheimer's Association has a Mail Preferences form with a Stop all mailings option. You can instead choose fewer letters, annual mail or quarterly news. A separate checkbox controls sharing your name with other organizations.

Choose a paper-mail option on the official form

Open Mail Preferences and select Stop all mailings if you want no further mailings. Do not leave I have no preference selected when removal is your goal. The form asks for first and last name and a postal address, including a second address line, city, state and ZIP code.

Use the label on the letter you received. Include your apartment or unit number, and keep any printed reference nearby if you later need help finding the record. An email unsubscribe containing only an inbox address does not describe the postal record this form asks you to identify.

Please record the Stop all mailings preference for Alzheimer's Association mail addressed to [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].

Please also record that I do not want my name shared with other organizations for communications purposes. Please confirm these two choices separately without changing any existing donation.

You can keep news without every appeal

The form also offers less frequent mail, quarterly news and information, or one mailing per year. Choose the outcome you actually want. A reduced schedule is not a full unsubscribe, and quarterly news is not a promise of no paper at all.

If you value research updates but not frequent appeals, compare those choices before submitting. Save the option name with the date, rather than keeping only a screenshot of the blank form. If you later change your mind, use the current form again and identify the same postal record.

This is a mailing decision, not a medical or caregiving question. The postal form does not ask you to explain a diagnosis. Keep health histories and another person's care documents out of a mail-removal photo or request.

The sharing checkbox is independent

The checkbox below the frequency options asks whether your name may be shared with other organizations for communications purposes. If you want that sharing stopped, check it as well as choosing your own-mail preference. Changing one field should not be treated as proof that both choices were recorded.

A letter from a different organization still needs its own sender check. This form does not identify every outside list source or promise to retrieve an address already supplied elsewhere. Retain the other letter's label rather than sending it to the Association simply because both envelopes concern health charities.

Keep evidence of the actual record changed

For repeat mail, compare spelling, unit number and printed codes with your original request. Ask whether the piece was prepared earlier or whether another record remains. The form does not publish a universal final-delivery date.

If the recipient moved or died, describe that situation accurately through the Association's current contact route. Do not impersonate the person to change a wider account. Copying this draft does not send it, submit the form or cancel a gift; retain any confirmation that identifies the preference recorded.

Keep the full mailing label visible

Save the printed name and address. Choose the Association's paper preference yourself and keep a record of the option you submitted.
