How to Stop ALS Association Mail
The ALS Association's policy offers a Do not contact me by postal mail choice and a separate fundraising restriction. Use its published Security and Privacy Requests contact and identify the mailing record you want changed.
Name the postal restriction in your request
The ALS Association privacy policy lists several choices under Your Options. Postal mail, email, phone, fundraising, all contact and deletion are not interchangeable. Ask for the postal choice if your goal is to stop unwanted paper while keeping other communications.
The same page provides a Security and Privacy Requests route, including a written address. Use that published contact instead of assuming a privacy mailbox exists under the website's domain. Include the name and address from the appeal, with a unit number and any printed reference.
Please record the Do not contact me by postal mail preference for ALS Association fundraising mail addressed to [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. The printed reference, if available, is [reference].
Please confirm which mailing record and preference changed. I am not requesting cancellation of a donation, changes to patient services or deletion of all data.
Fundraising and patient support are different purposes
The policy describes constituent information used for campaigns, events, services and contribution requests. A paper appeal does not tell you which of those records is responsible. Explain the unwanted piece and ask the team to match it rather than asking for every record to be erased.
If you receive useful service or event information, say what you want retained. The policy does not establish that every category can be switched independently on a public dashboard. Ask for the available preference and its effect, and retain the answer.
No medical explanation is needed merely to describe a fundraising envelope. Keep diagnoses, referral documents, patient correspondence and another adult's personal information out of the request. For verification or care questions, follow the Association's own secure instructions separately.
An email unsubscribe does not identify the postal record
The policy describes registered web profiles and a separate SMS opt-out. Those routes do not replace giving the printed address for a paper preference. A confirmation about text messages alone does not prove that physical mail was stopped.
This policy concerns the Association's online practices. If your piece came from an offline record, tell support that and ask whether it can locate and change that record. Do not treat the page as proof that every independent ALS-related organization maintains the same list.
Match the organization and save the response
The Muscular Dystrophy Association has a separate contact and record even though both organizations discuss ALS. A similar condition or campaign theme does not establish a shared mailing list. Check the sender and return address before choosing the request route.
For repeat mail, compare the printed spelling, address and reference against your saved request. Ask whether it was prepared earlier or belongs to another record. The policy does not give a paper-mail stop deadline, and copying this draft neither sends it nor proves a preference changed.
Keep health information out of the photo
Photograph only the fundraising sender and postal label. Contact the Association yourself through its published privacy-request route.
