Decide what to keep out of a mail photo
A good mail photo shows the sender name and the full mailing label, which is enough to identify the sender. Other documents, account numbers, and anything beyond the advertisement itself should stay out of the frame.
What to include and what to exclude
- Position the mailer so the sender name, return address, and your mailing label are all readable before you take the photo.
- Look at the frame for any other document underneath or beside the mailer, such as a bank statement or form, and move it out of the shot.
- If a combined mailing includes an account statement along with an advertisement, photograph only the advertising portion or the outer envelope.
- If a mailer contains a pre-filled form with sensitive personal information, do not photograph the form. Contact support at Junk Mail Magic support before submitting, or read the privacy policy for other options.
When a mailer includes more than advertising
Some mailers arrive folded around inserts, or the outer envelope carries a teaser that mentions your account. An account number, policy number, or form number is not needed to identify the sender. If the sender label cannot be photographed without showing that kind of detail, contact support at Junk Mail Magic support before submitting and ask how to handle it. Bills, medical records, financial instruments, and other people's mail do not belong in the service at all.
Before you submit
Review the photo on your device before uploading. The sender name and your mailing label should be legible, and nothing else in the frame should be a separate document with personal information. Each photo you submit counts toward your allowance, so check it first.

Have an unwanted advertisement ready?
Photograph one piece you are authorized to handle, with the sender and full mailing label visible. Review the details before submitting. The first request is free; the sender controls the response.
