Deactivate USPS electronic-signature service

USPS lets you opt out of its Electronic Signature Online service through Manage My Signature. That changes your enrollment. USPS says a signature already applied to a particular package cannot be canceled, even before delivery, so check that distinction first.

Check enrollment and package choices separately

  1. Sign in to your Informed Delivery account through the official USPS website. Find the Electronic Signature Online settings.
  2. Check whether you have already applied an electronic signature to a package you are waiting for. Enrollment alone does not apply it to every eligible delivery.
  3. To deactivate the service, open Manage My Signature and choose Opt-out of Electronic Signature. Follow the confirmation steps shown by USPS.
  4. Save the resulting enrollment status and the date. Keep a separate note of any package that already has an applied signature; the account opt-out cannot revoke that choice.

An applied package signature is final

USPS requires customers to choose electronic signature for individual eligible packages. Its FAQ says that once a signature is applied to a package, the request is final. Do not rely on deactivation to make a carrier collect an in-person signature for that item.

If an affected delivery now concerns you, ask USPS which delivery options remain available. Describe the existing signature choice accurately. This guide does not promise that another option can undo it.

Signature-service status note

Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.

Enrollment status before change: [active / unclear] Electronic-signature opt-out submitted: [date] Resulting status: [confirmation wording] Waiting package with a signature already applied: [yes / no / check needed] Private nickname for affected delivery: [optional] USPS support question: [what delivery options remain?] Separate email or advertising preference to review: [task / none]

Keep the confirmation with the right task

This setting concerns package-signature service. It does not unsubscribe you from the Informed Delivery email digest or stop postal advertising. Record those as separate preferences if you also want to change them.
