End brochure follow-up after one travel inquiry

Contact the tour company directly. Ask it to stop printed prospect mail to your address, and mention your original brochure inquiry so staff can find the right record. Limit the request to paper advertising. Any reservation, loyalty balance or membership is a separate matter.

Build the request around the first inquiry

  1. Take the latest brochure and note the company name, plus the recipient name and address exactly as printed. If you remember asking for the first brochure, write down roughly when you asked and how, such as through a web form or by phone.
  2. Find contact or mailing preference details on the company's official website, or use a phone number you already trust. Ask whether a printed-mail option exists. Do not assume there is one.
  3. Say that your only contact was an inquiry. If you do have a trip, loyalty account or membership with the company, say so and ask that those communications continue.
  4. Ask the company to stop sending catalogs, brochures and other printed sales mail to that address. Name paper mail specifically, because an email unsubscribe may not change postal preferences.
  5. Record the company, the date and the contact route you used.

When a piece looks like a trip notice

Some mail from a tour company is not a brochure. It may be about a deposit, an itinerary change or a membership. Before you treat a piece like that as marketing, check it through a contact route you already trust. If a brochure is addressed to someone else in your household, that person should approve any request made about their name.

Sample request to end prospect mail

Example for your own use. Replace the bracketed details and review what you share.

I requested a brochure from your company around [month/year] through [web form / phone]. I have no booking or membership with you [or: I have a booking and want its communications to continue]. Please stop printed brochures, catalogs and other sales mail to [name as printed] at [address as printed]. This request covers postal marketing only.

If another edition arrives

Compare the name and address on the new brochure with your original inquiry and with the details in your request. If they differ, for example a misspelled name or a second address line, reply through the same contact route and include both versions so the company can check for a second record.
