Stop mailed apartment offers after signing a lease
Ask each property you toured or contacted to stop sending leasing promotions by post. Include the date of the tour or inquiry and the name you used, so the property can find your prospect record.
Connect each mailer to your search
- For each mailer, write down the property name, phone number and the name printed on it. A logo or design alone does not show where your address came from.
- List the properties you visited or contacted and how you did it: in person, by form or by phone. Match a mailer to a property only when the names agree. Mark the rest unknown.
- Contact each matched property through its official website. Say you leased elsewhere and ask it to stop printed leasing promotions to your name and address.
- For mailers you cannot match, contact the printed sender and ask whether it can stop the mail.
Mail that is not part of this request
Notices from your new landlord about the lease, fees or move-in are not prospect marketing, so leave them out of these requests. If a roommate toured with you, mail in their name is theirs to address.

Start with the properties you can identify
Send requests first to the properties you can match with certainty. Keep the request dates in your list, so you can quote the date if that property mails you again.
