Stop pet-product advertising after a loss

After losing a pet, advertising for food, supplies, and veterinary services can be hard to keep receiving. You can submit removal requests for it without explaining your loss or sharing details about your pet.

How to request removal from pet-product advertising

  1. Set aside subscription boxes, auto-ship confirmations, and veterinary reminders. Those come from accounts, and you cancel them directly with the company.
  2. For advertising with no account behind it, photograph each mailing label separately with the sender name readable. Review the prepared details, sign in, and submit each photo as its own request. No explanation is needed.
  3. Keep veterinary records, certificates, and other documents about your pet out of your photos and submissions.
  4. If you have an active account with a retailer or veterinary practice, contact them to update your mailing preferences or close the account. A removal request does not cancel an account.

Advertising that uses your pet's name

Some retailers print a pet's name on advertising, taken from a purchase or loyalty program. That means the sender has a profile tied to you. A removal request may stop the advertising, but the name stays in their records. To have it removed, contact the sender's customer service and ask them to update or delete your pet's profile.

Go at your own pace

Work through the pile when you feel ready. If a piece is unclear, contact support at Junk Mail Magic support before submitting. For other options, read the main junk mail guide.
