Find the official digital Medicare handbook option
Medicare offers electronic delivery of the Medicare & You handbook through a secure Medicare account. Make the change in that account. A junk-mail request to a sender is the wrong route for it. Reach the account through the official Medicare website you open yourself, not through a link printed on a letter.
Change the handbook delivery in your account
- Open the official Medicare website by typing the address or using a bookmark you already trust, then sign in to your secure Medicare account.
- Find the handbook delivery choice. If you cannot locate it, check the official instructions on Medicare's mailings page, because the exact location of the setting may change.
- Read what the choice describes before selecting it. A handbook setting applies to the handbook, so do not assume it changes enrollment, billing, benefit or appeal notices.
- Confirm the change if the account asks you to, then write down the date and the option you chose.
What the handbook choice leaves alone
Medicare distinguishes official account and coverage correspondence from plan marketing. Choosing a digital handbook does not stop letters about your coverage, and it does not affect brochures from private plans. Those plans are separate senders with their own contact details.
If you help someone with this, work from their own account with their permission and let them pick the delivery option.

If a printed handbook still arrives
Compare the mailing date with the date you made the change. If a paper copy arrives after that date, recheck the setting in the account, then ask Medicare about that mailing through its official contact route. Open any coverage or enrollment letter as usual, since those keep coming whatever you chose for the handbook.

Choose the route that matches the mailing
Use the official route described in this guide for this kind of mail. For a separate ordinary advertisement, Junk Mail Magic can help prepare a sender-specific removal request.
