Use a shared phone carefully for mail photos

On a shared phone, mail photos and sign-in details can end up where other people can see them. A few habits before and after the photo reduce that risk.

Reduce exposure on a shared device

  1. Check which accounts, photo libraries and browser profiles other people can access on the device.
  2. If you cannot keep the label private there, take the photo and make the submission on your own device instead.
  3. Use your own Junk Mail Magic account and review where any reference image is saved.
  4. Sign out after using a shared browser and remove your saved login from that browser if it stored one. Keep reference photos in a location you control.

Shared photo libraries and cloud backups

Many phones back up photos automatically, and some households use one cloud account across several devices. A photo of a mailing label taken on such a phone may show up on every linked device. Before you photograph anything, look at the backup and photo sharing settings. If you cannot tell where an image will go after you take it, use your own device.

After your session

Once you have signed out and confirmed the photo is not in a shared album or backup, you are finished. If you have trouble with account access on a shared device, contact support at Junk Mail Magic support and do not leave the account signed in as a workaround.
