Review an older DMAchoice registration
If you registered with DMAchoice years ago, find that registration before you start a new one. ANA's current FAQ says DMAchoice preferences last ten years. An older profile may still be active or may be close to expiring. Your original date tells you which.
Find the registration you already have
- Search your email for messages from DMAchoice or the Association of National Advertisers. A confirmation or receipt from that time gives you a likely original date.
- Write down the name variations and mailing addresses you entered. One profile can hold five addresses and five name variations, so an older profile may already list the version of your name printed on current mail.
- Go to the DMAchoice site by typing the address yourself, and read its current instructions for reviewing a profile. Do not use a link from a message you did not expect.
- Compare your original date with the ten-year period. If you cannot find the profile or the date, follow the site's instructions before registering again.
What the profile covers
DMAchoice’s current FAQ sets a ten-year registration period. Treat the date on your old receipt as a starting point, then check the program’s current renewal instructions. If you have since changed names or addresses, review those entries at the same time.
Persistent mail is not proof that registration expired. Customer and donor mail needs a direct request to the sender. An unfamiliar company may also be outside the participating network. Work out what kind of mail continued before paying to register again.

Sort the mail that still arrives
Keep a dated note of what you found: active registration, renewal needed, or a question sent to the program. Add the current names and addresses covered. That record makes your next review easier than relying on whether the mailbox looks quieter.

Choose the route that matches the mailing
Use the official route described in this guide for this kind of mail. For a separate ordinary advertisement, Junk Mail Magic can help prepare a sender-specific removal request.
