Check the ANA caretaker list for a dependent in your care
ANA’s Do Not Contact List for Caretakers is a separate registration for people in your care. Its official page says the person’s name, address and email are placed on its mail and email opt-out lists permanently. Read that combined scope with the recipient before choosing it; it is broader than asking one catalog sender to stop.
Before you open the caretaker form
- Review the official caretaker registration with the recipient where possible. Check the form’s questions about your relationship and authority, and answer them accurately.
- Gather the advertising names and addresses you are authorized to manage. Keep identity documents, financial records and care information out of any JMM worksheet.
- Read the current fee and consent wording on the caretaker form itself. It has its own registration terms; the regular DMAchoice price and duration do not describe this service.
- Confirm whether the person wants the mail and email preferences that this registration includes. For a narrow change, a direct sender request may fit better.
- If you choose the service, submit through its official form and retain the confirmation privately. Record the date and the details covered.
What the list will not reach
The caretaker page says updated suppression information goes to subscribing companies monthly and describes an expected reduction in prospect mail within three months. It separately directs existing customers and donors to contact those senders. These are this service’s stated terms, not a promise that all mail will stop.
The registration does not grant authority over accounts, benefits, care or legal affairs. Keep those matters with the recipient or the representative authorized for them.

Write to the stores and charities they already use
List any customer or donor senders that remain outside this broad registration. With the recipient’s approval or appropriate authority, use each sender’s own route for a specific postal preference. Keep those requests distinct from the caretaker registration.

Choose the route that matches the mailing
Use the official route described in this guide for this kind of mail. For a separate ordinary advertisement, Junk Mail Magic can help prepare a sender-specific removal request.
